Winding an antique clock?

Question: Winding an antique clock?

(Posted by: Greg W on 2010-02-01 07:06:14)

I have an older clock and I have to wind it on a weekly basis, should I wind it as far as it goes, or stop short because it's older?

It's always best to wind it until you feel some resistance. Over winding a a clock can eventually damage the spring leading to costly repairs.
