Where could I find an antique frame for a civil war tin type I recently purchased?
It measures 2 1 4" x 3 7 8" . Thanks for any help I know tintypes usually come in a cool box type frame.
I recently received an antique gift and was just curious to find out how much it would be worth today?
It is a pin with a sterling silver hand crafted bow and hanging from the bow is a gold locket with the front covered in mother of pearl. It is really gorgeous and in good shape. When I received it there were two photos in it, that of a woman and that of a man in a WWII uniform so it is very old. Just curious if it had any value, it was such a great gift and I will always treasure it.

How do I make a book look old/used/worn/tattered/antique?
As a present, I need to make a book that I had newly purchased look like an old used version of the same book. Is there anything I can do to it to make the front back covers look worn, wear down the spine and just make it look like an older version of the book while still allowing it to be legible?
Need help with techniques to clean my antique sword!?
I do not want to polish my sword, it is a masonic templar sword made in mid 1800's, past down to me by my grandfather, i would like to know some household things i can use to clean and preserve the sword, the blade is acid etched, so abrasive cleaning techniques are out, i have heard the following technique works but i am not sure wipe blade with non lint cloth wipe on a thin layer of baking soda and water solution, then wipe off finally wipe on a thin layer of vaseline petroleum jellyi dont know if this works, anyone have ideas? remember no abrasive techniques, and no polishing that will remove the patina, i also do not like all the harsh chemicals

It's identical to the longer of the two wooden tools in the photo. Mine has a wonderful patina on the ends of the wood. I'm longing to know what it was used for, its approximate age, and other interesting tidbits. Can I use an Antique Boss Oven?
I just bought an antique Boss Oven for use in my cabin. I like the way it looks and it is the perfect size for occasional baking. I was looking up some old info on it and see in most of the ads that it has asbestos insulation. Can I use the oven AS IS? If not, If i can disassemble it, can I remove the asbestos, clean it sufficiently and replace it with something else and make it safe for use? Please let me know.
